AR235 Plate

AR235 alloy steel plate

Characteristics

AR235 alloy steel plate is an abrasion-resistant (AR) steel with a typical hardness range of 200 to 250 BHN. It is a medium carbon steel supplied in the as-rolled condition.  AR235 plate is not quenched and tempered and is used for products in high wear applications. While it is more expensive than other alloys, its durability and high wear properties can make it an economical choice. It can be machined, drilled and punched.

Applications

AR235 plate is used  primarily in the materials handling and mining industries, for smooth sliding applications where impact is not a factor. These include:

  • Conveyors
  • Chutes
  • Aggregating containers
  • Hoppers
  • Liners
