    Stephen Armstrong

    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Stephen is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering.

    He began his career at BellSouth where he spent 10 years in various operations and management roles. While at BellSouth, he earned an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He joined O’Neal Steel in 2006 as a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. Over the course of six years, Stephen was promoted to various management positions at O’Neal Steel including: Manager of Sales & Marketing Analysis; Vice President of Administration; and, Vice President and CFO. In 2014, he accepted the role as President and CEO.

    Stephen is a member of the Junior Board of Directors for the Birmingham Zoo, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Board of Directors, UAB Collat School of Business Advisory Committee and Children’s Hospital Committee for the Future – Class of 2008, along with other industry and philanthropic organizations.

    Mitchell Harrison

    Vice President of Operations

    Mitchell is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. In 1978, he began his career in the metals industry with Shelby Steel (later acquired by O’Neal Steel). He then moved to a sales role in Nitro, West Virginia before taking an office manager’s position in Louisville, Kentucky. He transferred to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1989.

    In 1995, Mitchell moved to Birmingham to manage the Corporate Processing Department. He returned to Greensboro in 2000 as Assistant General Manager. In 2005, he became the General Manager of Greensboro. In 2009, he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations.

    Jodi Parnell

    Vice President of Supply Chain Management and Business Development

    Jodi is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and holds a degree in Marketing from The University of Alabama.

    Jodi began her career in the metals industry in 1998 at Tuscaloosa Steel (now Nucor-Tuscaloosa). Her career at O’Neal Steel started in 1999 as a Product Specialist in Purchasing for carbon plate and flat rolled products. In 2012 Jodi was promoted to Director of Purchasing for carbon products and accepted her current role as Vice President Supply Chain Management in 2013. Jodi currently serves on the Board of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is active with the MSCI and is a member of AWMI.

    Tate Forrester

    Vice President of Sales and Marketing

    Tate is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in economics, Spanish, and managerial studies. He also received his MBA from the University of Texas.

    Tate joined O’Neal Steel in 2009 and has held multiple operational and commercial roles since, including management positions at TAD Metals, CHRG Metals, and United Performance Metals – all O’Neal Industries portfolio companies. Most recently, Tate was the Director of Corporate Development at O’Neal Industries, parent company of O’Neal Steel. In July 2017, he began his new role at O’Neal Steel as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

    Jay Morrow

    Vice President of Human Resources

    Jay Morrow, Vice President of Human Resources, is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Human Resources Management.

    Jay joined O’Neal in 2013 as Director of Human Resources.  Immediately prior to O’Neal Jay spent five years at Alabama Power and Southern Company in a number of HR roles, mainly supporting the Transmission and Generation organization(s).  Other positions over the span of his 20 year career include HR Director for Momentum Telecom and Vice President, Human Resources for the Vesta Insurance Group.  Jay is certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) as well as Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).  Jay is active in the community and industry, serving on the Board of Directors of the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation, the University of Alabama at Birmingham Collat School of Business HR Advisory Council and the Metals Service Center Institute Education Committee.  Jay is married, and his wife (Michele) have two children, Mary Catherine and Jack.
